Keeping Your Account Secure

M
Written by Max

Plumex takes security seriously. Here's how to protect your account and what to do if something goes wrong.

1 — Protect your login access

Plumex uses secure, passwordless login:

  • 📧 Email OTP — a one-time code sent to your email each time you log in

  • 🍎 Apple or 🔵 Google — via your linked account

Keep access to your email and linked accounts secure. Never share OTP codes with anyone.

2 — Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

For an extra layer of security, enable 2FA:

App → Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication

We recommend Google Authenticator or Authy. Save your backup codes in a safe place — you'll need them if you lose your device.

3 — Recognize scams — we will NEVER ask for this

Plumex support will never ask for:

  • 🚫 Your OTP or login code

  • 🚫 Seed phrases or private keys

  • 🚫 Your full card number or PIN

If anyone contacts you claiming to be Plumex and asks for any of the above — it is a scam. Report it to us immediately.

4 — Recognize phishing

Official Plumex communications only come from @plumex.io email addresses. Before clicking any link:

  • Check the sender's email address carefully

  • Look for spelling mistakes in the domain (e.g. plumex-support.io is not us)

  • We never ask you to "verify your wallet" via a link

5 — Lost or stolen device

If your device is lost or stolen:

  1. From another device, go to App → Settings → Security → Log out all devices

  2. Change your email password and revoke Google/Apple access if used for login

  3. Contact Plumex support to flag the account

6 — Suspicious transaction

If you see a transaction you did not make:

  1. Log out all devices immediately (see above)

  2. Contact support right away — include the transaction ID and date

Do not delay — fast action improves the chance of recovery.
